Just learned that Glen Hansard died today in a motorbike crash, 56 years old. In addition to being a great songwriter, he was a great interpreter of Jason Molina’s songs. I loved him for shining a light on another artist who does too damn young.
This is unconscionable. I've been to Chaco Canyon twice and it's incredible. Tthe landscape is part of the meaning, there really can't be a "buffer zone" large enough. Filling this it with oil wells would be an obscenity. Consider leaving a public comment. #BelieveInFilm #Rolleiflex
Here's a photo I took with a Tourist, looks like I might have had a little trouble getting the film on to the reel (early days). Having one of these more or less fall into my lap is what set me back on the path of film. It's a basic camera, but Kodak always knew how to deliver the goods.
Here's a #FoundPhoto for Sunday evening. This gent and his (presumably) grandchild had their photo taken in 1919. I was taken with it because you don't often see casual photography of this quality around. Picked it up in an antique mall! The context of the photo suggests this is in Green Bay, Wisc.
I love making these, they're kind of magical. We fell in love with my father-in-law's Kodachrome stereo slides of the family from the 1950s, so I picked up a Kodak Stereo Camera. This is from this past summer, up here in Wisconsin.
