Ugh. Is it winter yet? Seriously not seeing yhe difference between not being able to hike due to heat vs not being able to hike due to snow.
Grasslands National Park is surrounded by farmland. Excluding the bison in Westblock, the animals that live within the park venture outside of the boundaries to find food. What impacts will this cause to endangered species like Swift Foxes and Burrowing Owls?
Was able to watch the Wood Mountain Lakota First Nation put up 2 teepees along Rock Creek yesterday here in Grasslands National Park Eastblock. The teepees represent the history the Lakota have in this area, fleeing the US after defeating Custer at Little Bighorn. #IndigenousPeoplesDay
We've already seen the Liberals approve strychnine to kill gophers in the Prairies, which is a threat to guys like this, the Burrowing Owl, which can die from eating contaminated gophers & loss of nesting habitat due to less burrows to nest in. #cdnpoli
