Green Lantern: Emerald Knights. The Laira story has some of the best action animation in the DC library, the Kilowog story brilliantly uses Fullmetal Jacket’s R. Lee Ermey, and the Mogo story is hands down my favorite adaptation of any work by Alan Moore. #ngl

I think DARK KNIGHT RETURNS: THE GOLDEN CHILD is some of both Miller and Grampa’s best work, and serves as a perfect final chapter to Miller’s whole Batman output. Similarly, and as hesitant as I am to admit this, RORSCHACH might actually be Tom King’s best work. #ngl

One of my favorite Batman runs of all time. The only thematic conversation I’ve ever seen with Morrison’s run that has something to say about it more than simply fawning. #ngl

I’d take the Andrea Romano approach and not look for big names, but for upcoming talent from unexpected locations to foster a relationship that can last for decades. To find the next Kevin Conroy, I’d check out the experimental theater scene. #ngl

No, I think it’s just that the gears of modern Hollywood are not very equipped to understand how to successfully adapt female heroes in general. We need a sea change away from a boys’ club culture. #ngl

I think HARLEEN is the best version of Harley Quinn’s origin story ever told, and the essential text for the history for the Amazon people should be WONDER WOMAN HISTORIA.

I’d say the greatest sufferers are half their Justice League. The DCAU Diana permanently shifted the character towards a love of violence, their John moved him from an architect to a generic marine, and their Shiera is a half-measure stuck between Hawkgirl and Hawkwoman that can never be recaptured.

The most important thing to enjoying Grant Morrison’s Batman run is the ability to overlook the villainization of women and non-white characters #ngl

The one-two punch of Kingdom Come and Justice League Unlimited, the main two ways a semi-casual fan are exposed to him. The DCAU has done as much damage to some characters as it has good for many others. #ngl

Using @planetx.bsky.social’s DC BOOK OF PRIDE as a sample size, I count 45 heroes, 3 villains, and 9 ambiguous. I’d say when introducing a new overtly queer character, it’s usually less complicated to make them heroic. However, when accounting for queer *coding*, those numbers probably shift. #ngl

In the main canon, this one’s a gray area. There’s an anthology story which suggests he may have had male love interests in the past, but the language is ambiguous enough as to the nature of their relationship to maintain plausible deniability. He has never verbally identified as bisexual. #ngl

With Superman, Luthor is an all-time hater. There’s no getting around him. I don’t think anyone in Wonder Woman’s rogues gallery actually hates her? They either see her as a nuisance or an obstacle to their own designs, or they’re obsessed with her for more complicated reasons. #ngl
