Spending this evening with these two box sets by the American Analog Set. What a stellar body of work. As @andrewmale.bsky.social says in the latest MOJO: “It’s all one song, and it’s perfect.”
Indeed. 30 at my local supermarket. Even the American classic Skippy. Corn on the cob? We got that too. 🌽

The refusals to have fun and go play in the sunshine definitely resonated with me. I was a pale child constantly compared to Tristram from 'George and Mildred', so the fact my mother was buying sunglasses here is not lost on me.
This one, more than many, struck a chord. I laughed a lot too, FWIW, best summarised by this transition from utter despair to Curtis's beaming mug ("But on the other hand...")
