A load of potatoes from our veg patch in Fukushima just dropped. These little ones are gorgeous. Coated in miso, garlic and butter. With a pinch of sea salt.
Hayabusa/Komachi Shinkansen passing through Koriyama just before our ride pulled in. Successful shoot. Last chapter of what has been a year-long series of shoots for the JNTO. Sometime in October there’ll be a blog post from me all about it. With lots of photos. Have a great weekend. Luv&peace ❤️🙏🏻
Shooting at a cucumber farm out near Mt. Bandai, Aizu, Fukushima. And inside the greenhouses. Yeah. Lovely. 35C outside. Dread to think what it was in the greenhouse. My brain was boiling.
Third prefecture of today. Now in Fukushima. Lunch soon. Two parts of today’s shoot left. More around Bandai tomorrow then we’re done. Back to Tokyo by about 10pm tomorrow night. Hot now. Gonna be a sweaty and tough second half of the day.
Backing up data and sifting through the archives. Pulled a few out for you. Wishing you a lovely evening. I’ve made spaghetti bolognaise and we have Joe, Minami and baby Emma over for an early dinner. Off to Aomori in the morning.
Now on set. Shooting starts soon. And it’s Drum Machine O’Clock.
Been shooting in Hayama today, since about 8.30am. Almost home. Out the house at 6am tomorrow. Shooting in Tokyo. Here’s a couple of shots from Kochi last week. Have a great evening, all.
18th Sept, 2023. And September, for all those who are too thick to understand, is before October. And, honestly, it started in 1948.
Back home from Shikoku. Back out on the tourism shoot in Kanagawa and Tokyo on Sunday and Monday. Wednesday off to Aomori and Fukushima. Thrown my laundry in the machine. Gonna get some lunch and have a slow afternoon.
Good morning. Driving from Ehime, where we were shooting yesterday. Over to the Shimanto River in Kochi. Two locations to shoot today. Flying back to Tokyo tomorrow. Saturday off. Then it’s Hayama, Tokyo, Aomori & Fukushima. Morning tunes: music.youtube.com/watch?v=2t3d...
Heading to Shikoku today. To do a summer themed shoot. Ha. Yay.
Tried Donki and two drug stores before finding this in Seiyu. Yay. Best insect repellent I’ve used in the last few years. Organic, too.
“People never litter in Japan” “Everyone is respectful & has manners in Japan” “Everyone follows the rules in Japan” How many times have we read this bullshit? Usually posted by people who’ve never been here. Or by people who spent two weeks here. This truck has been here 4months.
Weird. But, ironing makes me calm and satisfied. Off to Shikoku tomorrow.
Nice. Enjoy that. Weds, Thurs and Fri morning for Kochi (my days there shooting) not looking so great. But we’ll make what we can of it. 👍
One of the first few I did was a soundtrack special. Need to get back on to the radio show. Far too busy this past couple. of three months. Which is great but..... www.mixcloud.com/AlfieJapanor...
Very cool. Rare these days. Here’s one of their other auto products: the Heinkel Kabine. Built from 1956-58. Photographed this in Wales in about 2004.
Wish I could send you some of ours. Parts of the south of the country have had 20inches of rain in the past 72hrs. Double typhoon heading up the country as of tomorrow. And the rain ahead of it has been brutal already.
Shindo 6- (M5.6) quake in Yamanashi this time. Fuji Five Lakes area. Big shake here in Tokyo. That had the house shaking real good. All ok but that’s strong quakes in Aomori, Chiba, Ibaraki & Yamanashi this week. And a double typhoon heading this way. Mother Nature having a busy week.
Weekend is looking set to be rather interesting. #weather
Sure. Most people do that. But not the “everyone” you mentioned. This was the clean side of a small park in our Tokyo neighbourhood last Friday night.

Moonrise at Sennyūji, Kyoto. On assignment with McLaren Japan a few years ago. The Abbott is a petrolhead. Which always makes shooting there a little easier and more fun. He hovered around us most of the shoot. Thought he was keeping tabs on us. Turned out he just wanted to sit in the car :-)
Morning listening at my desk. Very nice mix. #music www.mixcloud.com/martinglover...
Happy to have today’s outdoor shoot done and in the bag. Went well. Weather not perfect but it was dry and not crazy hot. And I’ll take that. As we’ve now two typhoons inbound. Tomorrow’s shoot is indoors. Yay. As the next three days will be solid rain.
