This planter is looking very happy. I love how cheerful the petunias look. They are holding up well in the heatwave. #flowers #bloomscrolling #garden
My mixed beans are coming in. No wax beans yet, but the green, purple and pink are doing well. So far they don't seem to mind the heatwave. #Garden #Gardening #GrowYourOwn

My pack of mixed string beans is giving me all different colored flowers.
Picked my first tromboncino squash. I hope they are tasty because I've got a lot of them coming in! #Garden #Gardening #GrowYourOwn
A little bouquet from the garden. The astilbe didn't last very long, but the coreopsis and daisies did. #Bloom #Bloomscrolling #Flowers
My purple broccoli is starting to head-up. This is the first time growing it in a protected raised bed. I gave up on anything in that plant-family due to the cabbage moths. But the covers for these raised beds are working out great. #Garden #Gardening #GrowYourOwn
I bought this iris a couple of years ago and it's taken its time acclimating to the edge of my rain garden. Finally blooming! #Bloom #Bloomscrolling #floweroftheday #Flowers
The squash is really going to town! Fingers crossed that I get a few before the borers decimate them. I love pattypan because they look like flying saucers. (and taste good). There is also a couple of trombocino squash in there. Supposedly they are immune to borers.
First turnip harvest. Roasted them with potatoes and green beans. Very tasty! #Garden #Gardening #GrowYourOwn

I've never had good luck with lettuce until I started using raised beds. This was from a seed mix called Farmers Market Blend, and they are just gorgeous. I also put a Crackerjack marigold (Large) and 2 sweet peppers in to take over when the lettuce is done. #Garden #Gardening #GrowYourOwn
The rock cress that I started from seed is really spreading this year. It's up with the daffs, so a nice early one. And the bees are loving it.
A mystery plant just showed up in the garden. I was about to rip it out as a weed, but it had flower buds on it. I have been trying to fill in spots with wildflowers, so this could be something I tossed into the garden last year. I'll wait until it blooms to decide. #wildflowers #garden
Broccolini is an amazing plant. I've had a couple that I've been harvesting all summer.
This is Mallory. We lost her a few years ago. A very powerful personality. #whiskerwednesday
My favorite park has finally opened again. Helene took some trees and a lot of asphalt, but the locals still trod the same paths.

Did I mention our new kitty? We got this sweetie from the Humane Society. Her person had died and a neighbor held on to her for awhile. She was very shy and we rarely saw her for the first few days. As you can see, she has made great progress from there.
This is our newly adopted kitty, Mishka. She is 10 years old and her previous person died. She is very shy and just beginning to come out of hiding. From the colors on her coat, I think she's got some Siamese in her. #Caturday
This is the Cherry Bomb tomato. I'm estimating that it's about 7' tall at this point. It was an experiment. I'm trying a few disease resistant hybrids because my area has both early and late blight. The tomatoes are delicious! I'd say it's a winner. #Garden #Gardening
This is what I call a Crazy Daisy. I started some from seed years ago. I don't think the original looked like this. It has spread all over the yard. I got upset because it was EVERYWHERE. Now finding daisies peeking out of every unweeded corner has cheered me up. And I really need that right now.
