I have 2 copies of the plastic version but didn't know there's a metal one.

This type of tree moss, Pseudevernia furfuracea, makes great scenery material for D&D / model railroads / etc. If it grows on trees in your area it's a sign you have good air quality. They are harvested for use in perfumes.
