If Faine was in her right mind, she’d go home, forget any of this ever happened, and hope Dante didn’t know where to find her. Instead, she was across the street from what was certainly a vampire club. While most vampire clubs didn’t look all that different than their human-frequented counterparts from the outside, The Crypt’s reputation and blinking neon sign stylized with fangs made its preferred patrons obvious.
A few vampires loitered out front, their cigarettes held aloft but rarely smoked. Their laughter danced down alleyways, off tempo from the heavy bass playing from inside. As Faine stood outside, they paid no attention to her whatsoever.
The mingled stench of sweat, blood, sweet drinks, and cologne from the club made her stomach twist with nausea.
