I just planted three Gay Butterflies Milkweed plants from Monrovia Nursery in the pollinator garden. My 93 year old mum asks "What are gay butterflies?" I answer, "They're homosexuals, Mom. Everyone knows that." Yes. I'm her full time caregiver. Follow me for more impudence.
The birds planted this sunflower and now there's a bee on it. There is. I swear.
Inspired by South Asian Chole, today's vegetarian stew (because meat is too expensive and the Screw worm has me completely grossed out) is with soaked dried chickpeas, onion, ginger, garlic, cilantro, cabbage, carrot, and a host of warm spices.Will be served with the leftover bread I made yesterday.

Tis the season for the Hummingbirds to go into an all out rumble. Just witnessed 5 separate hummingbird fights in the yard and one over-the-top mating dance (they fly straight up and very high, then plummet straight down, then repeat on a loop). Aggressive little fucks.
Our best boi Archie is at the vet today for a teeth cleaning and needs an extraction. Poor fella!!!!!!
