Hard to believe this good doggo is FOURTEEN?! Other than a little arthritis on a joint that was always wobbly you can't really tell
Heading back to Brooklyn tomorrow and the best stretch of late July weather I’ve EVER seen in the city (not counting smoke, though)
Hi from Chicago where aqi is 500-950 (!!!) in the north shore even though it doesn't look as bad as NYC
Just as I couldn't have written Cyborg without Full Surrogacy Now, I can tell you @reproutopia.bsky.social latest, Femmephilia, is going to be my companion this fall while I work on Why the Engineering School Needs Feminism
But: OH NOOO, green are permitted uses and this does NOT AT ALL seem compatible with a lot of other language stating that teacher expertise and knowledge will not be eroded by AI tools
Working on plans for the nine yards of this pink-brown-blue-white striped/plaid fabric, I promised Ms Four I'd use it to make us matching outfits and she is PSYCHED to dress just like mommy
I went to a workshop at our library this morning and made a tiny zine!
This has been on my reading list for years, and on my desk for months. Picked it up today also inspired by @shannonmattern.bsky.social ! Little did I know that it is about witches and cyborgs 🧹🪄🤖👾
It's that time again, time for what's become my favorite book to teach
In case anyone is wondering how the Year of Crafts is going, here's the jumpsuit I started making over the weekend! I have to cut it up and reduce the torso length by 3-4", got hit by Australian pattern sizing here, the crotch is literally at my knees. The grading on the leg width also sucks for me
Lil Oreo dog is "needs a wool sweater and blanket to warm up from five minutes in the snow" years old
My latest finished piece, and cutting the teal corduroy for later this week
For Reasons, like the plain woven linen I ordered hasn't arrived yet and I'm impatient, my second sewing project is in denim 😬
My first sewing project is now done and pressed! Silk noil basic top, mainly for work
I made about 2/3 of a silk noil blouse this morning and stayed off the hell site all day, ten minutes back and I'm heading for a panic attack So instead, look at my topstitching!! I haven't made a garment in 27 years or so! Instead of scrolling maybe I will finish it tonight
What in the AI enshittification is this, Firefox Absofuckinglutely not. Fuck off.
I also got this dark indigo linen-cotton 7oz denim sample that goes perfectly with this gray. I love the high contrast in the weave, and it's soft as pajamas. Might need to make a whole outfit?!
PALATE CLEANSE I've been super slow on this grey alpaca sweater after starting it FIVE times to get it right, but the body is finally close to complete!
I think we played Verdi's requiem in rehearsal that night, I don't have that, but Berstein's extraordinarily propulsive direction of Dvorak's New World Symphony works probably better for racists invading Latin America again
I made great progress with getting hard pants out of my life in 2025, but in 2026, with the help of this delightful machine, it will be official and irrevocable
Here is the palette of yarns and textiles I've been collecting for winter projects
