Al Sweigart
@alsweigart
Author of "Automate the Boring Stuff with Python" and other books. Mostly harmless. Last name rhymes with "why dirt." he/him
A redditor sent NYC Mayor Mamdani a decorated "Good Luck" dollar earlier this year and just got this response.
I've added "ABOLISH ICE" to the bottom of my InventWithPython.com and AutomateTheBoringStuff.com websites. Ten years from now, everyone will say they were saying it.
Looking at a slide from an old talk I gave when I mentioned the adage, "Luck favors the prepared."
Someone left the comment "They don't know how to do anything if someone isn't actively bribing then and telling them what to do" and I'm going to remember that for the rest of my life.
New book just dropped. I made a silly $10 gag gift for math/techie nerds: "Almost 100,000 Prime Numbers" www.amazon.com/dp/B0H4PYRJNM Free at inventwithpython.com/almost/
Like look at this guy's AI-generated profile pic. WHAT IS UP WITH THAT USB CABLE? It's shit like this that I *always* find in these images that make me think the person behind is a careless asshole, because I know if they were made aware of the issue, their reply would be "so what?"
@simonwillison.net I think "pelican on a bicycle" might have lost its novelty when it comes to modern models, Simon. :)
