I was curious if Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis made any acknowledgement of the Pulse shooting ten years ago, and found the announcement that flags would be flown at half mast today. It is a short statement that mentions ISIS but not gay people.

Announcement titled "Flags at Half-Staff in honor of Pulse Remembrance Day." It is dated June 11, 2026, and sent from the governor to Brian Fienemann, director of real estate development management.

It reads "Nine years ago, on June 12, 2016, a shooter claiming alliance to the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant committed a horrific act of terrorism at Pulse Nightclub in Orlando, Florida. Forty-nine people were killed and fifty-three were wounded. As a mark of respect for the victims, their families, and the many affected by this tragedy, I hereby direct the flags of the United States and the State of Florida to be flown at half-staff at all local and state buildings, installations, and grounds throughout the State of Florida from sunrise to sunset on Thursday, June 12, 2025."

Evangelical podcaster and Christian nationalist Allie Beth Stuckey posted yesterday that Democrats are “winning the media war“ in Minneapolis. Stuckey is not an expert analyst or media critic but spends extensive time convincing Christian women of the goodness of the Trump administration.

Minor point, but I believe the child is 6, not 4. Annoyingly, the Star-Tribune appears to have corrected the story without noting the change.

Many journalists are reporting that "transgender" has been removed from page about the Stonewall National Monument. However, some references to LGBTQ remain in places where the page links to other pages.
