That is decidedly untrue. At the 70th session of the Commission on the Status of Women, the United States was the lone vote in favor of adopting "gender critical" ideology. www.hks.harvard.edu/centers/carr...
m-w.com/dictionary/f... Merriam-Webster defines "feminism" as the "belief in and advocacy of the political, economic, and social equality of the sexes expressed especially through organized activity on behalf of women's rights and interests." "GC" ideology, w/ "sex-based rights", is not feminism.
"Gender Critical" ideology is inherently contradictory, and those who follow it are too steeped in that ideology to recognize the contradictions.
Instantly going on the defensive and worrying about insults certainly says something.
You never answered when I asked what you found confusing about this: www.ohchr.org/en/instrumen...
"I was hoping to agree that we're both right (there are only two sexes and not every single individual can easily be classed as one or the other)" there are only two sexes - ✔️ not every single individual can be easily classed as one or the other - ❌ bsky.app/profile/gail...
Unless the topic is a specific individual or specific to an individual, claims about that individual, likely or otherwise, are entirely irrelevant. There is no reason to insist on talking about a person or an individual person's traits. bsky.app/profile/drch...
The cynical side of me must ask "Are they *trying* to trigger veterans who have anxiety or obsessive disorders?" 😂
A female who had reached adulthood and her four offspring. A woman with her children? Or another case of a gender ideologue defining "woman" in a way that's inconsistent with mainstream 21st century Earth English?
bsky.app/profile/stop... Four year olds don't understand the difference between a boy and a girl? I thought sex and gender were so simple that even toddlers could readily identify men and women, boys and girls? Quote posts disabled? What are you afraid of? 😂🤣😂
Your ideology made you see what you wanted, not what was there. You are so desperate to play victim that you hallucinated "a man" instead of "a chromosome test".
Apparently revisiting posts where contradictions were called out and/or questioned is too much to ask, and Occam's razor can't possibly explain why people who acknowledge anthropogenic climate change are more likely to support trans rights than "gender critical" ideology. bsky.app/profile/alys...
"Funny, I can tell you’re all alone in the world without one." → "Funny, I can tell you're all alone in the world without a chromosome test." → "Without a chromosome test, I can tell you're all alone in the world." The man 100% came from you. You really should own up to your assumptions and biases.
This quite literally says that. And one path leads to me saying that you personally were being inconsistent: bsky.app/profile/alys...
This sort of response seems typical for so-called "Gender Critical" ideologues.
It's not "a rabbit hole" if you actually understand the concepts, but that requires knowing what "binary" actually is. Sex is not like quantum energy states, where there's an instantaneous jump. Saying "organized around" or "moving towards" is not objective or scientific. bsky.app/profile/tire...
"make people believe that everyone should look a certain way" That's a consequence of the concept of "binary." No in-between, no overlap. "I believe in the material reality of bodies and the oppressiveness of gender norms." No, you don't. You're pathologizing bodies that don't fit the norms.
By TERF "logic", I should be able to order a Carl's Jr. Famous Star here.
"It can't even plot anyone on the spectrum." And that's where you get this nonsense. Nobody is saying there's a literal spectrum that people can be plotted on. All it means is that there is at least one category beyond "male" and "female." It doesn't mean the categories have no definitions either.
No, 2 is entirely nonsensical. Showing 2 at all just shows you don't understand what "sex is not binary" means. A bimodal distribution tells you that your dataset has two different populations within it. In the overlap area, you don't know if the people being counted are male, female, or intersex.
