I live in the UK.
It relates to DWP abusing S.22 to 'block' release of UC Prog Board papers. It eventually lost before the FTT but Covid caused delays that meant the 2 years kept expiring before the FTT got to hear the case. The file is available on Parliamentary Library website but this is what they said. Clearly >
From "las fallas valencia 2026". The Valencians clearly like Trump et al as much as the rest of us, but they have a great way of showing it.
Looks like a lot of people died after DWP ended their claims or found them fit for work .... Deaths of those on Benefits www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/deat... FoI by Gail Ward (don't know if she's on here)
Disability benefit cuts cause rise in poverty and mental health issues, not employment rates www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/news/disabil...
I have added an update to this request (see attached image). I'm now waiting for a fresh response from DWP. Current Contracts - Functional Assessment Services www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/curr...
Four other taxes that could be raised in the Budget www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/cg... Taxing EVs per mile will kill sales. Why would anyone pay a lot more for an EV only to be then taxed for every mile they drive? Car manufacturers must be wondering why this Govt is determined to kill off EV market.
Attached are the fees paid to these 2 companies since 2013 (not my request) 'DWP fees paid to PIP Contractors Atos and Capita' www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/dwp_... via @whatdotheyknow.bsky.social
I assume she will report herself every time she uses any of these Hindi words in future ....
DWP confirmed. No guidance/training exists on selection of primary condition for PIP assessments. Basically Assessor/DWP Decision Maker can select whichever condition they want. 'Guidance - Selection of Primary Health Condition' whatdotheyknow.com/request/guid... via @whatdotheyknow.bsky.social
Interesting data. Shame volume so low. Interesting that Capita the highest as they have always been supportive of recording. 'Audio-recording of PIP assessments - 2025 update' www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/audi... via @whatdotheyknow.bsky.social
More info disclosed thanks to @charlierad.bsky.social 'PIP activity 4 and 3, and those scoring 3 points in total, 2023/24' www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/pip_... via @whatdotheyknow
DWP confirms it is assessment provider that selects & records primary health condition for ESA & PIP claims. If they don't add it or set it as biggest impact it doesn't get recorded 'Guidance - Selection of Primary Health Condition' www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/guid... via @whatdotheyknow
FOI request by @MartinJBonner DWP making as it goes along. Previous assurance re people on state pension is clearly meaningless as policy still being developed. 'PIP 4 point requirement after reaching state pension age' whatdotheyknow.com/request/pip_... via @whatdotheyknow.bsky.social
PIP - Unsurprisingly Sir Stephen Timms claim 'small interventions' has no basis in fact. 'Assertion that conditions for PIP claimants "could individually be managed with small interventions or the addition of aids or appliances"' whatdotheyknow.com/request/asse... via @whatdotheyknow.bsky.social
How can the consultation be meaningful when the number of attendees is so limited? 'Pathways to Work Reforming Benefit & Support to Get Britain Working Green Paper Consultation' whatdotheyknow.com/request/path... via @whatdotheyknow.bsky.social
Am I wrong to find it strange that no matter what the volume of claims is the answer is always 13%? DWP claims targets don't exist but ... 'How many people currently getting PIP daily living get 4 points in any one activity?' www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/how_... via @whatdotheyknow
DWP response to this FOI (not mine) shows why claimants cannot trust decisions made by DWP decision makers. Look at the success rates for appeals. 'PIP awards given after tribunal 2023-2024' www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/pip_... via @whatdotheyknow
Watchdog raises concern over DWP plan to deduct benefit overpayments www.theguardian.com/society/2025...
Another FOI req (not mine) confirming 46% PIP claimants will loose benefit under Labour. Also confirms changes hit women harder than men so is it discriminatory? 'No claimants of PIP who have less than 4 points in any 1 category' www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/numb... via @whatdotheyknow
Labour Govt looking to exclude 46% of PIP claimants via proposed eligibility changes Seems rhetoric being repeated by Govt Ministers re mental health is flawed as majority of claimants with MH conditions will still qualify. Has one actually thought about proposed changes?
So much for rampant fraud given the number of people in the UK in receipt of Social Security benefits (which includes the State Pension) 'Social security actual fraud' www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/soci... via @whatdotheyknow.bsky.social
Parliamentary Question about number of DWP decision makers working on Benefit Fraud. Given how low sickness/disability fraud actually is then is this all about fraud for UC with it's 'amazing' IT system ....
This is not good. How many other companies are selling products that haven't been tested/approved?
