This is why BlueSky and the internet can be so fun. I don’t know this fungi and was intrigued by the poetic name so was looking it up and discovered Amanita muscaria inspired the dancing mushrooms in Disney’s Fantasia movie, an all-time favorite of mine since my childhood.

We had stunning thunderstorm clouds last night in the PNW. Deeply disappointed that alien ships did not descend through those two cloud eddies, as Hollywood has often foretold.

Fun night at the beautiful #Spokane Fox Theater with the incredible Spokane Symphony Orchestra as they performed the soundtrack live to the film La La Land. Great film, great music, stellar orchestra. Bravo! 👏🏻
Bet they do. Here’s our cat Janna, who moved with us from CA Bay Area to the inland Pacific Northwest, surveying her new world, tail twitching sharply in annoyance. Pretty sure she was thinking “WTF? Where’s my backyard, my favorite shade tree, my fence, my doves and hummingbirds?”
