I'm calling in strong opposition to Senator Johnson's Shutdown Fairness Act. While I very much want our servicemembers to be paid, this bill is not the way to go about it. It gives way too much power to Russel Vought to disburse funds where he wants during the shutdown and cut off departments and services with which he disagrees.
It's a formula for partisan punitiveness. Congress needs to get back to negotiations to reopen the government on a bipartisan, bicameral basis. And we want those ACA premium tax credits extended!

Protest Rights
1. You don't need a permit to protest in streets or on sidewalks if you're not obstructing traffic or access to buildings.
2. You have the right to photograph anything in plain view, including police.
3. If stopped by the police, ask if you're free to go. If yes, calmly walk away.
4. If arrested, ask for a lawyer immediately. Don't sign, say or agree to anything without a lawyer present.
