Blue and green graphic: it matters because we've started considering alternative paths. Data centers & AI can be built more responsibly, but we have to demand it. What if the workers building AI had a say in how the tech would be used? What if building new data centers required also building new parks and sustainable infrastructure? What if companies were held accountable to promises they make? Why shouldn't they be?!

Background: In April, the Seattle Times reported that 5 new data centers could be built in the city, and residents sent over 98,000 messages expressing their concern. In June, city council members voted for a 365-day pause on new data centers until regulations are in place.

Today at 1pm at the Spheres, 2111 7th Ave, Seattle! Make sure Amazon understands that it's their workers and customers (the world around) who determine whether the company thrives. Dystopia is not a good plan, and they need to dump ICE, and honor their climate goals too!
