It’s hard to do a proper reveal peel when you can see the ink through the paper. 😂 Anyway, key block proofed. I’ll fiddle with it a bit, but otherwise it’s on to grey.

Making progress on this selkie. No idea why I decided to cut the background first; I usually do it the other way around.

Finally back to work on my selkie linocut.

Obviously I need to decorate it, but it works perfectly! Now to make some tokens…

I caved and bought a little cardboard vending machine for selling mini prints at craft fairs. Yes, I could have figured out how to make one myself from scrap cardboard, but this was easier. If it works really well, I might scale it up and make one for short story chapbooks.

Thorstein’s book is Chosen of Gods (sorry queer fam, this is my one and only straight book). Bjarni’s book is Heart of Outcasts (and it is very *not* straight). Bonus art of Bjarni and Justin.

All set up at our local Pride festival. If you’re in Duncan, the parade is on now and vendors are here until 4.

Instead of writing or printing as I should be today, I’m making cover mockups for a collection of short horror stories I’m nowhere near ready to release. (And I’ve been thinking about submitting it to small presses first, anyway.)

Some days are good printing days and some are … not. I suspect it’s not as bad as I feared, but I won’t know for sure until the prints are dry and I can inspect them properly. Anyway, tomorrow is another day.

A little progress…

I’m all set up and ready for tomorrow. I’m mostly selling art, but I’ve got a selection of my (illustrated) books, too. I forgot my White Raven Press sign, though.

This weekend I’m selling art at the Fairy Faire in Sidney, and I’ve made a complete mess of my studio attempting a practice set up with my new grid wall.

Semi-regular plea to artists and diy framers to please use appropriate tape on your art. Please please please do not use masking tape, or duct tape, or packing tape, or regular cello tape. They are not meant for permanent use on art and they will actually damage paper over the long term.
