Took some time but I think prefer the I frontside with the J backside. Sun on the front, shadow in the back.
I had to scroll down and read "Ville Tietäväinen" but came to the same conclusion :-) The J designs buildings covered by the birds wings shadow are a great idea but overall my favourites are H and I with a slight preference to the latters vertical design.
I, with H as close second. However, getting used to the vertical design might take a bit.
Swiss bank notes were the first vertical notes I came across and it's a bit of a surprise at first but I can see getting used to it.

Indeed. We only need to achieve the same energy output, not input. The efficiency of electric motors or especially heat pumps is a lot better than their combustion alternatives.
Not familiar with the situation in the UK, but in general we also plant a lot of "energy crops" ( for biogas, -diesel, -ethanol, ...) instead of growing food despite Solar -> EV being way more efficient than corn/canola -> ICE, be it land use or other metrics.
However, high base prices (due to high taxes) mean the relative price increases in Europe are lower than in the US. South East Asia and Oceania are affected the most.
I'm quite confident your feeling is correct. While you can always tweak the numbers by comparing number of flights/passenger or miles traveled, my first find is this graph for 1970-2024. Cars were probably even worse since i.e. mandatory use of seat belts only became a thing from the 70s onwards.
Taxes make up ~18% of the total cost in the US compared to i.e. Germany who have 19% VAT alone on top of 0.65EUR/l fixed energy tax and 0.17EUR/l carbon tax.

First time? Somewhat similar to Ukrainian refugees setting up "points of Invincibility" with chargers and tea in Berlin during the multi day blackout at the beginning of this year.
Swapping the battery seems way more convenient than refueling at a gas station. Even assuming charger cables, people forget that electricity is everywhere and gas stations were not always (and most likely won't continue to be) as ubiquious as they are today.

Excellent interactive graphs. I wonder about the monetary flows (especially towards Russia) in addition to the volume since the gas price is such an important input variable for all kinds of assesments.
