The fig trees in our backyard are full of fruit and they’re almost ripe! But it turns out the local raccoons don’t care about the perfect level of ripeness, they spent most of last night grabbing figs and breaking branches! 😭
Things have been so busy lately that I haven’t taken a day off in months, but I did today! We drove over the Cascade Mountains to visit some fruit orchards and got freshly-picked peaches and pluots! It was Josephine’s first road trip and I think she did pretty well!
My dog has an obsession with digging… fortunately, our potato crop is ready to harvest, so it’s a helpful obsession!
His friends Cabin and Galley have been adopted already, and I think Anchor might be listed next!

Tuesday morning fireworks really threw a wrench into my productivity level today! Sorry to the folks expecting an email, but my dog needs my support to get through this anxiety attack 🥺
Personally I’ve found volunteering for the last year at our local shelter to be super rewarding. Not only have I met hundreds of good dogs, I’ve learned so much about animal behaviour and body language. Plus, I adopted Josephine from the shelter and she lights up my life!
Okay cool, good to know my dog’s not alone in her introvert behaviour at daycare 🤣
I know that some dogs just aren’t cuddlebugs, but I hope that one day she’ll want to curl up and nap beside me 🥹

There is a weasel! In my garage! I don’t know when it got there, or why but it’s definitely a Long-Tailed Weasel! He’s kind of cute but also I have no idea how to get him out… (Weasel ID from: wdfw.wa.gov/species-habi...)
Every time it’s rained this Spring, the neighbourhood snails come out! They’re so cute, I love them!

Our local shelter has a dog named Pudding available to adopt and it’s taking everything within me to not bring her home, but we just got Josephine two months ago! So instead I’ll share photos with y’all
We adopted Josephine two months ago exactly, so here’s an anniversary update ~>
I’m working on a list of songs that I can sing to Josephine, where I replace some words with her name or relevant details. You know, normal pet owner stuff. 😝 So far I’ve got Lady Marmalade, Dancing Queen, and Jolene. Looking for more suggestions if you’ve got ‘em!
