I'm pretty sure that the first final fantasy you played will always be your favorite and I'm no exception. FF9 closed out a fantastic trilogy of games on the ps1 with bang.
Next up on my list is an old 3ds favorite. SMTIV stands to me as probably the best RPG on the console.
