I reset him — and less than ten minutes later he started making an extremely loud and bizarre rattling noise. Opened him up and found this. My helpless Roomba, who gets stuck on his own damn ass on an empty, flat surface, somehow managed to eat a 6 cm long chunky glass chandelier-crystal. The fuck.

I fell in love with Boomerang Fu at GDC 2019, and would just like @paulkopetko.bsky.social to know that my niece & nephew have been obsessed with it for years — and STILL beg to make guacamole of each other every single time they come stay with me... 😂

"Violence against women remains one of the world's most persistent and under-addressed human rights crises, with very little progress in two decades, according to a landmark report released today by the World Health Organization (WHO) and UN partners.

Nearly 1 in 3 women - estimated 840 million globally - have experienced partner or sexual violence during their lifetime, a figure that has barely changed since 2000. In the last 12 months alone, 316 million women 11% of those aged 15 or older - were subjected to physical or sexual violence by an intimate partner. Progress on reducing intimate partner violence has been painfully slow with only 0.2% annual decline over the past two decades.

For the first time, the report includes national and regional estimates of sexual violence by someone other than a partner. It finds 263 million women have experienced non-partner sexual violence since age 15, a figure experts caution is significantly under-reported due to stigma and fear.

"Violence against women is one of humanity's oldest and most pervasive injustices, yet still one of the least acted upon," said Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, WHO Director-General. "No society can call itself fair, safe or healthy while half its population lives in fear. Ending this violence is no only a matter of policy; it is a matter of dignity, equality and human rights. Behind every statistic is a woman or girl whose life has been forever altered. Empowering women and girls is not optional, it's a prerequisite for peace, development and health. I'm not a fan tbh... It looks unnecessarily cluttered and adds to cognitive load imo. Disclaimer that I am (clearly) not a UI artist — but there are plenty of cleaner ways to communicate selection while maintaining consistency across the button sizes/shapes, e.g.:

Two variations of the buttons displayed in the original post, but without the border radius changing. i.e. All the buttons remain consistent in size:

1. When the button is active, the colour changes and a white outline appears. An additional checkmark appears on the selected button if they are icon-less (i.e. text-only).

2. When the button is active, the colour changes, a darker outline appears, and the selected icon grows in size. An additional checkmark appears on the selected button if they are icon-less (i.e. text-only).

Settings > Add/remove programs > Uninstall Navigating to that location sure does reveal a notepad.exe, but it's not useable with my txt files. There's also no longer a "New > Text File" option in my context menu, so I just copied an old one to demonstrate. Descriptions of each image in alt text.

There is a notepad.exe in the System32 folder, which does open, and has the text "A new version of Notepad is available."

Context menu no longer has a "New > Text File" option.

I copied an old txt file (Windows type is listed as "txtfilelegacy") and tried to open it manually with the notepad.exe file in Windows32.

Error message: "Cannot associate file type with this programme.
The programme you have selected cannot be associated with this file type. Please choose another programme."
