I'm not young anymore, so maybe it is not a surprise I've arrived at that place where I know what it means to 'live.' This does not mean life is without purpose. I've created my purpose. And one of those is to fight for this democracy as flawed as it is right now. Turns out, I love a good fight.
Einstein said as he worked to find a unified field theory that it was difficult because the math was so hard. But he kept trying. To turn the world from social inequality and oligopoly mutual co-existence, we should understand that it's hard. Really hard. But we should keep trying.
I have two artificial hips. It has taken a lot of steady exercising and strengthening to get back to biking. This is my new 'regular ride.' I've done this a dozen times or so, so it's not a fluke. When you live in a valley, everything is uphill!
Join the movement to do no harm in the world. There is no leader, just you leaning into your values to make a better world by doing no harm to others or the environment. I call it the "Do No Harmy ARMY." because I love bad puns. JOIN IN! Make yourself a t-shirt if you want. Or a hat. Go for it.
Poor trump. He KNOWS everyone loves Stephen Colbert and hates him. He just cannot stand it!
A new original musical will open this summer in Spokane, Washington. It highlights early 20th century Seattle from the viewpoint of a young girl. A musical preview of will be held this April. If you love musicals or are a director looking for some original material, take a look.
Just finished reading the "Debate on The Constitution." So revealing. Fears about the Constitution leading to autocracy are coming true; not because the structure wasn't sound, but because those with money have undermined the checks & balances that constrained power. We must take money out of govt.
One of the bittersweet things about moving: my husband had to paint over my cherished quote wall. It is requiring more coats than he realized: "The quote wall is not going out easy. Good ideas just won’t go away!" Made my day!
Had so much fun at the No Kings protest. Yorkville IL had about 1000 people.
Ahh, those were the days when we had real presidents who loved our country.
Ray Bradbury wrote Dandelion Wine as a memoir of his boyhood set in the summer of 1928 when he lived in Waukegan, Illinois. One of my favorites.
