I like trees. I live on Ngunnawal land. DM without invitation is discouraged.
Three dkheads in large off-road vehicles (one dick per vehicle) shattered the peace next to our picnic spot, revving engines and loudly consulting each other. I said I hoped they’d have minor car trouble, and waved cheerfully when we passed two of them changing a tyre on our way home. I hexed ‘em!
Found a counted cross-stitch kit at the Op-shop. Started it 6 weeks ago, while I was travelling to Tasmania. Coincidentally I went past this house on a bus from Launceston to Devonport. It’s a bit twee… perhaps I’ll add flames behind the house.
Walked 3.5 km each way for lunch with a friend. It was a beautiful day. Met some grass parrots.
They’re baaa-ack. If you’re wondering what they’re doing: they are ripping apart the plants growing over the fence. Not for food - just for the joy of destruction.
Wish I could grow these. The sulphur-crested cockatoos here destroy them before they even get a chance to flower properly.
Greetings from the shortest day. I sat on the front step and watched the light come into the sky. It was as beautiful and wretchedly hopeful as a doomer could wish.
My calculator is 35 years old, solar powered, and still works just fine. #iamancient
At the greengrocer the shopkeeper gave me two beautiful, crisp Southern Bliss apples for free. I munched one while I waited for the bus. An unexpected blessing.
Launceston, Tasmania. Launie to its inhabitants. Steep hills, faded colonial glory.
My daughter and I went on the chair lift to the top of The Nut in Stanley. I was terrified.
A town called Penguin. I feel sorry for the guy who died from injuries received at Warmbaths.
Made it. Slept like the dead - ten hours of uninterrupted repose, rocked by the 2 metre swell. I haven’t slept that well in months or possibly years - I feel ecstatic!
