I wonder how many new subscribers I need to catch paranormal casefiles. Likely not a lot of overlap with art history!
Kinda crazy that I have written 64 essays on substack since the start of the year. I'm not sure what I was thinking when I began, but it's becoming quite something I guess. substack.com/@anneleader/...
And the @barackobama.bsky.social presidential center in Chicago! And then soccer. Too much!
I have never missed New York more. Maybe I’ll live there some day again. @mayor.nyc.gov in the jersey for the win! #KnicksInFive
If you are able to get to Perugia before 14 June, I recommend the Giotto e San Francesco on view til then. Lots of works by the Sienese artists who worked in Assisi and lesser known Umbrian artists. This beauty by Simone Martini from Orvieto was a real treat.

I have been coming to Florence since 1992, working professionally on the history of the city since 1998. Today, my current project appeared in the local edition of Corriere della Sera! @mm-corriere-bot.bsky.social
Having spent the last two weeks looking at handwritten manuscripts and physical monuments in situ, I beg to differ. #twitterstorians #medievalsky
Some delicious things I’ve eaten recently. All made by me save the artichoke parmigiano salad.
Last night was truly the best presentation I’ve ever had the privilege to give. Descendants of a tomb installed in January 1384 were there! And, the owner of the autograph Sepoltuario manuscript, now available to read on @sepoltuario.bsky.social
When public radio and tv stations say how important "Viewers Like You" are, they mean it! Even "buying" me a cup of coffee gives me such a jolt of energy to keep going. To share more art and history with you. 🧵/5 donate.stripe.com/14A8wP3yi3G3... p.s. I upped my pledge to NPR today by 2$ a month
I said to myself: whatever, I'm going to skip it this week. But then, I opened my phone to see a flurry of messages alerting me to new free subscribers and followers. 🧵/3 anneleader.substack.com
Apropos of nothing, I came across this picture when I was looking for something completely different @metmuseum.org and was reminded of how much I love it. #art #StAnthony www.metmuseum.org/art/collecti...
Cylinder seals are only about an inch long—but they contain entire works of #art. What can something so small reveal about an entire civilization? To find out visit anneleader.substack.com/p/cylinder-s...
