“I... uh, I've already gone places. I kind of like to stay where I am.” Harry Dean Stanton
I miss the old Twitter days, when Sam shared his bucolic winery life with us, replete with beloved animal friends.
Sam Neill was a very favorite follow in old Twitter days, often featuring his winery animal friends, who became ours, too. Loved that he kept a Howard Finster in his kitchen as well. Not to mention his talent! On wings of angels, fly thee... [gift NYT link] www.nytimes.com/2026/07/13/m...
The artist views his work: "David Lynch: The Unified Field", his first major U.S. museum exhibition, Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts (PAFA), Philadelphia, 2014-15. Early works previewed Eraserhead baby & the essence of Bob. (Lynch studied painting at the Academy in the late 60s.) #DavidLynch

Stephen Colbert wins best, and most appropriately, dressed at the Obama Presidential Center opening ceremony today. 💯🙌
Here's wishing everyone a happy June full of topnotch tunes. p.s. Had the best dream last night. Lowell George was alive today, in perfect health, back on stage and in perfect voice as well. If only.. *sigh* #LouReed #Devo #JamesWhite&TheBlacks

A couple more classic images of legendary Ted Turner: 1) TIME Magazine Man Of The Year, January 1992 2) "the man in the Hathaway shirt." (A couple years ago I donated my CNN/Turner collection and files to the Hargrett Archives at UGA for preservation. These & many other items are available there.)
Here's wishing national treasure Willie Nelson a Happy 93rd Birthday today. Some time ago, Bob Dylan summed up Willie in words as only Dylan could..
The transcendent Alice Coltrane has been popping up in my timeline. New bio out, still trying to step out of her iconic husband's shadow? Her 'World Galaxy' forever ranks in my alltime favorite LPs and bears cool cover art designed by pop genius Peter Max. Takes me back to much less stressful times.
There's a feeling I get when I look to the west And my spirit is crying for leaving.
Late great guitarist Jimmy O’Neill, playing coy behind Waffle House menu post-gig somewhere in Georgia late 70s. Memory is fuzzy, but so was that whole decade. Likely best known as member of Mose Jones, first band signed by Al Kooper for his Sounds of the South label. They shoulda done a WH song 🧇☕️
Shoutout to the late, great, legendary Bruce Baxter, engineer of the original Rock Lobster. I believe they recorded it at Stone Mountain Studios in the 1978 wayback. Bruce was also known for his musical chops in Thermos Greenwood, as well as the Sunbelt Millionaires. Miss my old friend.
On this day 36 years ago, Pete Martell discovered Laura Palmer, wrapped in plastic, on the rocky beach of Twin Peaks. Angels wept.
