These are delicious. And I just realised they taste like Crack Jacks. That’s some proper childhood (American) nostalgia.
We can see the fires burning in Blaenavon from our house near Monmouth. The lower and mid level clouds are not clouds. It’s smoke. Can smell it now as well.
Busy Saturday. Rabble rousing with our neighbours over a big local planning issue at 9am. Then off to Abergavenny Pride. Walked in the parade, bought some badges, had a drink. Melted.
These Met office maps are unusable. At least give us layers or filters. But by Christ what am I meant to do with this.
Hot wings. Whipped feta dip. Charred bean and corn salad (with pumpkin seeds, dill and spring onion).
Devolution. Our data will be from other organisations. This is what the maps looks like. We just left west wales coast and it was 27 at 11am. 😬
The solstice is our anniversary. Nine years this year. Remembering those who were part of our day and are no longer here.
Nature is incredible. Watched this gull swallow 2 massive onion rings in one go.
All her favourite people came for a visit and belly rubs and goodbye. At 3.30 supported by a wonderful vet, we said goodnight at home. We’re in bits. She was the bestest girl. She was tiny but leaves a universe-sized hole in our lives.
Explored the back garden. Waited patiently at the front for us. Wandered the drive. Took a dump 🙄 And headed straight to our neighbours where she just wandered into their house and sat down demanding tummy rubs. She’s now ensconced on my lap.
It does not. This is one of my favourite photos of me from the day. I’m actually hoiking up my dress to get some ventilation from the open window.
Finished it. Interesting idea but failed to deliver. Next up is Mur Lafferty’s “Station Eternity”. Murders on a space station. The Midsolar Murders.
Next up is The Secret Lives of Murderers’ Wives by Elizabeth Arnott Yeah, I’m in a mood.
My god that’s been a day. So nice to be able to celebrate with this lot tonight in Cardiff.
Next up, and I’ve already started it this morning is: “Femme Feral” by Sam Beckbessinger. Perimenopause meets werewolf.
Finished this a while ago. It’s taken me months to read my second book of the year. Safe to say the reading is not going well atm But number 2 done. Kay Chronister’s “The Bog Wife”. Not entirely what I expected (not as dark/gothic) but it was good.
New from old. Last year was an absolute bumper year for oaks/acorns. This new oak is from a 500 year old oak very nearly our house. It’s a very special tree. And I have the next generation.
