#shadesofpurple in the Drakensberg mountains of South Africa, I can’t remember the name off the top of my head! #BirdoftheDay
35.5C in the shade this afternoon - Windsor, Berkshire @bbcpm.bsky.social
Hottest day of the year so far in Windsor (we got to 35.2C a fortnight ago)
Four weeks since the hottest May day in British history, it’s now the hottest June Day in British history
It took less than 24 hours to bust yesterday’s record high temperature for Britain in May
The infographic in this Papal encyclical is so clear and transparent that it will guide decisions on the digital world for years. As a humanist, I would shuffle Pope Leo’s captions but the clarity of this analysis is radical and powerful @humanists.uk
I never knew this! I grew up with 2001 the book and remember my excitement when 2010 and 2061 came out later. I’d forgotten all about 3001! 🤷♂️
As you mentioned “Human Nature”, I must recommend Kate Marvel’s wonderful book of the same name. It’s a rare example of climate science expressed in beautiful narrative readable by anyone
It’s a great big impudens to you, me and every other decent and right-minded person in this diminished country
Thank you for refining the endpoint for sea levels will rise on an ice free planet. I’m about to finish Kate Marvel’s seminal work, Human Nature, which takes me back to what I used to teach young people in about 2010. Unfortunately their parents complained that the children were disturbed by this 😭
She’s very self-contained, doesn’t like to socialise, but she makes beautiful things in her spare time
Unreasonably excited to have my Smart Meters installed by @octopus.energy today, 15 years after I was a member of the British Gas customer board working on the ambitious rollout plan to all homes by 2019! Worth waiting for, I’m sure 👍
I was pleased to meet #Poindexter ESU supervising their #DofE expeditions along the Thames near Wallingford this afternoon. Good luck to all participants! #UKScouting #Skills4Life
Thanks Paul, I have a Sony APC (Compact Frame) mirrorless camera with a medium zoom telephoto and the results can be superb in good light
These complement the avocado stone that I germinated before Christmas!
Of course, they are not the Wankpanzers we are discussing here. Maybe we can stick to the topic
I stayed at the Cain Valley Hotel for a couple of nights last Easter, great base for touring north Wales!
