Livestock, working border collies, books, gaming and cynisism. Nae king! Nae quin! Nae master! We willna' be fooled again! Knowledge should be free. Trans rights are human rights. No farmers no food! He/Him
Every fall I swear I'll never do it again and every summer I do it anyway. Barely able to stand up and walk, but of course I signed Bob and Tam up for big trials. Again 🙈🤪 It's so incredibly addictive to team up with a good sheepdog and tacle new challenges ❤️
Evening dog walk with my team ❤️ #bordercollie #workingsheepdogs #Norway #Valdres
Throwback to 2017. The brothers Joel, Rost and Sonic (10-ish weeks old in the picture) was enjoying the winter sun on the porch ❤️💔
I found a couple of lovely examples in a book by T. Kingfisher a while ago, can't remember the title though 🙈 Incredibly validating, to see that the author acknowledges that trans people exist in the world.
All the dogs tired and content after some good training. I have a great book, a nice cup of tea, a comfy chair full of warm pelts. Rain is pattering on the window and it's still almost daylight outside (10:30 pm), so I can see out over the green valley and the surrounding mountains. Good times.
I pass here on my way home from dog training. It's a good reminder of why we chose to live where we do; my mind is at peace in the mountains.
Raven finally talked me in to trying reading on my phone not just paper books. This was in mid February. Since then, I've finished over 80 books 🙈 and found a couple of new favourite authors... (Yay Priest! Yay lovely fan translators that makes Chinese media accessible!)
"It's inevitable", "It's the future!", "People complained about spinning Jenny too!" Yeah... No. Just no.
Some happy border collies playing in the snow, to give you a break from all the s*it that is going on <3
Thank you for all the good times in those levels and with a very memorable character. I named a puppy after Daud!
Don't get me started on sheepdogs, I'll never stop 😆 They are fantastic characters, and invaluable partners for us that work with livestock in open areas.
Training dogs to work with livestock, and livestock to work with us, is what makes my life worth living. Interpreter and teacher to guide conversations between three distinctly different species, see their relationship develop into a mutually respectful cooperation. Low stress, high wellfare.
April rain is not the best weather for newborns... a nice warm meal and one night in the warmth of the house (watched over by worries collies)will do wonders for little cold nr 10.
Started the project of getting the dogs used to pulling on a harness and staying focused on walking forward. Maybe, just maybe, I can get back on a bike and take them bikejoring when the ice is gone
