Recently watched a video on Crash 2's story, and it got me back to thinking again.

Without context, it's the story of an ignorant dope being played by a madman and the day being saved by his smarter sister.

With context, it becomes the story of an estranged son giving his "father" a second chance, only to have his trust betrayed, and he was only saved from making a terrible mistake by the people who truly cared about him.

This month's Patreon Reward from @rcase.bsky.social. I asked him to use whatever pose and win quote felt the most in-character for Violet (she IS his OC, after all). Hope y'all enjoy!

P1 Violet is wearing a custom karate outfit consisting of white pants, a black belt, a pale violet short-sleeved sports top with darker violet sleeves, black and purple gloves, and white bandages around her wrists. She is a tall woman (5' 10") with fair skin, blue eyes, long black hair tied into a ponytail, and a slim yet athletic build. She is further away from the viewer, grinning and posing victoriously with her fists pumped.

P2 Violet is identical to P1 Violet, except her top is light green with darker green sleeves. She's closer to the viewer and is covered in bruises and sweat, including her left eye being bruised and swollen. Her hair is all messed up, too, with her frayed ponytail drapes over her left shoulder. She is on her hands and knees, looking exhausted with a small tear being visible in her right eye.

Shiki and Mana are up there, though I'm not sure I'd call them "side characters." Another character worth mentioning is Chang-Shi, the frog sage of Cascade Isle. Half-"wise old sage", half-"grumpy old man."

I like the different fighting styles, skill-sets, and personalities that @myleszwylz.bsky.social's cast displays as well!

@theverdanthawk.bsky.social and @helladelicacy.bsky.social's casts are so stylish and cool, and reading their banter is a good time.

@podfrog.bsky.social always gets so creative with his cast's names and theming, and I admire that.

I like how adaptable @rcase.bsky.social's roster can be, between the different outfits and situations that they can get into.

Yet another design update, this time for our own little firebrand, Crystal! #xavierandaaron #oc #characterdesign

A character design reference sheet for my OC, Crystal Hydrus, a fair-skinned young woman with reddish-brown hair in a long ponytail, golden eyes, and an athletic build with a slender yet toned physique. She is standing with her left fist on her hip. She is shown wearing two outfits:

Aaron secretly harbors deep-seated trust issues and feels like he's always on his own. He's honestly not sure if his friends and loved ones actually value him as a person at all and feels that there's no one he can really trust to have his back when he needs it, so he struggles to open up to anyone.

Jessica struggles with a sense of belonging. She has no idea where she came from or how and why she ended up on Cascade Isles one day, a fact that bothers her more than she cares to admit.
