2/2 🧵…today I found out that they have an industrial vacuum at the back of the vehicle - it literally sucks up spilled soil so that no mess is left behind. I’m impressed.
Astronauts will often say how they feel connected to humanity whenever they gaze down towards the Earth. This is my digital artwork celebrating that intense feeling of connection. Created using Adobe Fresco. #space #Astronaut #Digital #Art
June is Pride Month. I am an Ally. {{{Hugs}}} and waves to everyone who celebrates. Artwork is my own from my digital portfolio. #Pride
I’m listening to Nil Frahm’s album, Spaces, and whilst ‘Says’ is standout favourite, ‘For-Peter-Toilet Brushes-More’ comes in at a very close second. #Music
‘Poppy’ Watercolour on 300gsm paper. Well, I thoroughly enjoyed creating that 😊 #wayercolour #watercolor #Art
Oh, my…just look at the way the Permanent Alizarin Crimson is drying. This isn’t me being arty-farty, it’s the evaporation and the pigment that’s doing the heavy lifting. Daniel Smith watercolour. #watercolour #watercolor #Art
Another watercolour sketch completed. I have a ¼ pan of a David Smith white/stone colour which actually dried out as a very pale pink, bit of a surprise that one, but it did work out well on the flowers.
Still playing with my watercolours. Using a combination of Windsor & Newton, Daniel Smith, and indie hand made pans on 300gsm paper. #watercolour #watercolor #Art
I’ve been playing around with watercolours this week and today I’m partying with my Daniel Smith colours. Just look at that lovely texture now that the first layer has dried. #watercolour #watercolor #Art
I’ve been playing around with watercolour today, trying to keep everything loose and spontaneous with wet on wet. Very much not my usual style but I’ve enjoyed myself. #watercolour #wayercolor
My latest glass dip pen & ink drawing, on 300gsm watercolour paper. It’s a stylised New Zealand Tūī.
Another pen & ink artwork completed yesterday. The paper is A5 300gms hot press watercolour paper. The dip pen is handmade glass with double ends, which I’m enjoying using but not cleaning - those swirling groves are surprisingly difficult to get into.
My artwork for today: Hei Matau - a Māori symbol meant to bring prosperity, good health and safe travel across water. My own design and created using a glass dip pen and acrylic ink.
Here’s a short video of the creative process behind my digital portrait of Alan Shepherd, NASA astronaut on the Freedom 7 flight. #NASA #astronaut #spaceflight
May The Fourth be with you! To all my fellow nerd fans, I hope you have a great day.
I recreated a digital portrait of Neil Armstrong that I’d done a few years back. Added more detail with a better sense of depth. I’m very happy with it. I attach both images to show the changes.
*sigh* I’m terrible at geometry, but still I persist because some of the artwork that I create requires it. I am drafting digital assets to be used in later projects - stylised stars. Why not purchase digital star shapes or brushes? Because I believe in creating my own shapes and tools where I can.
Today, apparently, is Earth Day. Happy Earth Day to you all! Remember, this is the one and only planet that we humans can survive on…there is no Plan B.
I ordered some new art pens & ink. I tried all the inks out & found the white to be thick, which meant it blobbed and didnt flow easily. Also the gold separated from its’ carrier really quickly, leaving the carrier on top of anything drawn too thickly.
I spent today digitally creating the ringed planetary backdrop to a spacecraft…now I’m wondering whether to design a scientific probe or a manned craft.
This is a short video (1.22) of the creation process of my latest digital artwork, Artemis II. It shows how I add the vector circles, like a mosaic, to create the artwork. Took about 12 hours, spread over three days, to complete. #Artemis #ArtemisII #NASA #DigitalArt
