Suck-my-tongue Jar Jar was a bad idea and someone should feel bad about approving it for production.
I've been working in acrylic paint again, which I continue to love for its saturation and quick drying time; yeah, it has its downsides but the upsides are worth it to me. Some of my recent work in acrylic, mostly Magic-related. #Magic #mtg #traditionalmedia
It’s kind of a new beginning. Throwing out all my old business cards from before the pandemic, all of them w/ the exact 2 platforms i no longer use. Sigh.

...to work with the crown, directing the viewer’s eyes downwards after the hands lifting the crown directed them up. (The moon… now with 10% more orbiting planetoid!) 9/?
...to make sure my crown, ie, my reading of the book, fit his idea. “Is this where the full moon goes? The half moon? Does this crescent moon feel about the right size compared to the others?” 7/?
Greg had done a lot of thinking about the art before he contacted me. In our first discussion of the project, he sent me his own sketch to help me understand where we were going, what was important to him; a mature black woman’s lean hands holding up a unique and particular lunar crown ... 3/?
A while back, Greg Stolze contacted me to create an landing page illustration for The Moonsilver Crown, the first book of his sprawling saga of witches, politics and moon magic. He knew I loved old-school pulp art, and old-school pulp art was the aesthetic for his world. 2/?
Packing up these two little guys to send off to their new home! Huzzah!
