I'll be hiking from the high desert west of Inyokern to the High Sierra, going over Forrester Pass (13,105 ft.), then out Kearsarge Pass, over a total of 146 miles. Here are a few teaser pics from the area, going back to 2021, when I hiked the John Muir Trail, and 2022, when I stopped at Walker.
IDK how to explain this lack of trash cinema literacy. One of them, when shown a picture of John Waters, said he looked like a "pervy Mr. Rogers," which isn't too far off TBH.
In the past few days, I have mentioned John Waters to three queer folks between the ages of 35 and 44, and... they didn't know him? Like, at all! What is going on in this country today??
PS: Sinead is clearly coded as a kink-positive bisexual. Like, between her hair and the Baskin-Robbins pink, she wears the bisexual flag for 95% of the movie.
Overall a fun watch. It's aged surprisingly well, and there were no scenes or dialogue that felt tacky or dated. Directed by the amazing and quite gay Jamie Babbit (because of course, she directed a lot of Gilmore Girls...)
