Cora Spare
@asparecora
she/her, opinionated and cranky nerd of middling years, extremely queer but in like a boring way
Chickens got cranky when I got eggs the other day, so now I get to stalk them and search the tall grass for where the new nests are.
Post a robot not from Star Wars or Transformers? I've been playing a lot of My Time at Portia lately.
A TV show you're positive no one remembers but you? I liked this a lot, almost nobody has ever mentioned it since including the person I watched it with. It lasted about half a season, and was supposed to be at least three full ones.
Okay I am still all-in for Petra in My Time at Portia, but this lady Mali just showed up looking cool as fuck getting out of her own prop plane, so it's a good thing that she CAN'T be dated because I don't want to have to play this game a second time. The raw power she exudes. Lesbian power.
Oh they're ASLEEP asleep, neither one so much as twitched when I got into a crinkly bag in the same room.
I really like both the Persona 1 and 3 manga adaptations. They each try to do different interesting things with the material, either in delivery (P3) or expansion (P1). P2's is bad, basically unrelated. P4's is... how to put it... Oh, yes, thank you, Kanji.
Literally calling to get someone harassed off just a few days ago. And you can see commenters bragging about it. We also have no way of knowing what he was responding to because he succeeded in getting someone brigaded and suspended.
Receipts for a recent example of that, by the way. Cropped to include the post link number up top if one wants to go check for it personally.
Also, in things I do entirely to amuse myself: one of the security measures in a Thuranni enclave is a massive emblem of a displacer beast (their house symbol) that suddenly assembles itself into a construct when activated. So this is the token art.
Today started with 22 eggs in the incubator, at capacity. We've now got 10 escapees with two more definitely making a go of it, and at least another whole day for the remaining 10 to decide what they're doing.
Myriad Song. I've wanted to dip my toes into Sanguine's games for a bit now and this feels like the one most up my alley. It's space opera with a shake of space magic (of course) based off of musical theming. The book cites New Wave SF, prog rock and metal, and such as its aesthetic target(s).
Jaws of the Six Serpents, a PDQ-system game of sword & sorcery. PDQ's long been one of my little favorites for a relatively rules-light game system, probably because it was my first. I really like the approach(es) to magic in this game and it's influenced stuff I've done elsewhere.
Spellbound Kingdoms! Another one high on my list of "tie people down to force to play" games. Swashbuckling adventure fantasy in a Renaissance not-Italian States, where Princess Bride rules carry the day - even death cannot stop true love, it can only delay it. These are HARD GAME RULES.
Mutant Chronicles. Also science fantasy, though more in a cyberpunk future that in some places has regressed to World War 1-ish technology. Gonzo and rather tongue-in-cheek. Before Fading Suns 4e was announced, I was seriously considering trying to adapt this game's rules to run FS.
Fading Suns! I'm playing in a 2e game and very much want to run or play a 4e game of it someday. I love science fantasy and space medievalism.
I feel like the internet's ready to be really weird about Vi Domina from Wizardry 7 and 8.
Been forgetting for Way Too Long to share this, but got this dang beautiful Pride Dragon pin in from @fairyfort.bsky.social's most recent crowdfunding campaign. Joining the rest of the kitties and dragons I have from her.
*Totally* not just copying Giovanna Guiltygear's design for my party's private detective boss for this Eberron game.
The dragon's hoard, along with various businesses and money in the bank. I loved coming up with these.
