Twilight Princess's renders also captures the 2000s aesthetic, this time moreso feeling like a combo of Wind Waker and Majora's Mask but brought kinda into the mid 2000s emo scene? This one's kinda out there, but this art makes me want to blast MCR and watch Twilight (not cuz of the name I swear)
Wind Waker's renders make me desperately wish it was a Saturday morning cartoon. In retrospect, the hand-drawn art fits the early 2000s cartoon/anime aesthetic so well (hell, while obvs not intended, it reminds me a lot of Gorillaz around that time) and supports the cell shading so well
To counter OoT, Majora's Mask's renders utilizes large amounts of darkness to reflect the game's somber tone and themes of grief and loneliness. The render of Skull Kid may legit be one of my fav pieces of art in the whole series, it shows Skull Kid as creepy but specifically makes the mask ominous
Ocarina of Time's renders play so well with light! They all light up so well to depict the friendlier characters as friendly and likeable, while the enemies are darkened to be a bit creepier and more mysterious. The artstyle also just goes crazy hard, I wanna read a comic in this artstyle!
