Very entertaining and enlightening book, by the way

Thing is, much as I disagree, it's hard to be surprised when '70s New American Wave figures like Lucas and Scorsese are drawn to AI. They spent the last 50 years dreaming of "unencumbered" electronic filmmaking. By way of example, Francis Ford Coppola in the '80s:
