Ballet teacher, Jesus-follower, general nerd. Love my enby spouse @taliesin82.bsky.social Highly pretentious, but only toward people who suck. Follow me for brief rants about bad writing as I consume way more romance novels than anyone ever should. she/her
Name a TV show you’re positive no one remembers but you Squigglevision, originally named Science Court (1997-2000), was brilliant and if it had been more popular maybe we wouldn’t have so many flat earthers today.
Name a TV show you’re positive no one remembers but you Faerie Tale Theatre (1982-1987) originally aired on Showtime and was later rebroadcast to PBS, which was how I discovered it. It always struck me as a little eerie. Not sure if that was intentional or the product of the very low budget.
"Vote blue no matter who" was a 2020 slogan, not a 2016 one ("everyone needs to get on board" was more a Republican thing that year). That's why I said earlier that I don't think you are remembering 2016 "as if it were yesterday."
I’d say this guy has absolutely no self-awareness, but he turned off comments on this post so maybe not.
Idk how old this headline is but I just learned about it today, and I shrieked.
Mine are probably these plus the one where Jordan Peterson thought a photo of milking fetish porn was evidence of a de-masculinizing factory in China.
My skirt is more or less Seahawks colors and that’s about as good as it gets with me #GoHawks
You might want to turn off autoplay of videos and GIFs for a while.
I’m not really a furry but this maybe explains my taste in certain types of romance novels?
State Department members should protest by switching to Open-Dyslexic.
It’s a redesign of his original background image, which was this: I think @skutchdraws.bsky.social made the current one. Shaun’s videos famously don’t show his face and instead are pretty much a still image with occasional clips or images of sources thrown over the top.
This is Shaun Skull, a British YouTuber. A lot of his videos are about Nazis, but from the perspective of countering their rhetoric and ideology. Not a Nazi skull, just a guy who really likes talking about how much they suck.
Okay hear me out, a Lord of the Rings remake, but with these two taking the One Ring to Mordor. “I can't recall the taste of food, nor the sound of water, nor the touch of grass. Instead, I'm ... naked in the dark. There's nothing.” “Shut up, Wesley!”
Buried the lede. This is absolutely about developers wanting to squeeze people into smaller, less functional lots that they will still charge you a premium for.
#WritingTip On the same topic, why are romantic male leads always smirking? I swear, there's so much smirking in romance novels that it's amazing the word itself doesn't start to look distorted while I read. Which is why it's utterly brilliant when A.K. Caggiano does this when two nemeses face off:
#WritingTip: do you tend to overuse words or phrases? They can distract readers. One author I’ve read really likes to note when her characters are feeling ambivalent, I once was a book where the MMC “rasped” nearly every line he spoke, but this … this is pathological.
Kindly scroll up, and consider whether it is journalistically responsible to use “fascist” as a synonym for “unkind” or “inconsiderate.”
For anyone who, like me, doesn’t know crap about Islam, this is the actual Kaaba:
