It’s not hard to find and talk to someone who grew up under communism, you should try it.
A majority of Americans didn’t even approve of interracial marriage 30 years ago. Things were much worse for gay people. Homeownership rates were basically the same. You’re just wrong.
Homeownership rates are remarkably stable over decades. Labor force participation rate is not down much, mostly it’s due to the aging population and more retirees. Uninsured rate dropped for over a decade and then had a small increase. American healthcare costs are of course outrageous as always.
I think inflation adjusted car prices peaked while Covid supply chain issues were still unwinding and have been stable or dropping ever since, for both new and used.
GINI has been flat for about 20 years. We made progress on inequality briefly during Biden’s presidency and people hated it, since poor people making more money necessarily raises prices.
You’re the one missing the point. Do you think the depths of consumer sentiment make sense here, compared to 2008 and the 1970’s? You’re also conflating the economy in 2026 (year two of Trump actively trying to destroy the world economy) with the economy in 2024 (pretty great actually).
