At the @cbldf.bsky.social panel today, the fact that the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund owns the trademark and logo for the old, repressive, Comics Code came up. It was proposed CBLDF do a book with artists contributing their ideas about what a new permissive code would look like. #sdcc
After midnight crews were still working to get downtown ready for the official start of An Diego Comic Con today. In this case changing a decorative arch in the Gaslamp to showcase an Avengers Doomsday theme.
I'm heading to San Diego for Comic Con. I'll be checking out some indigenous comic stuff (in addition to the usual SDCC nonsense and fun). I'll also be posting amazing photo content here and on Instagram, like this one from 11 years ago: a real Comic Con water fountain!
Oh, is the kitchen clean? Time to make spaghetti I guess. I do this every time. It's like a pathology about having a clean kitchen.
What did you do today? The barbershop quartet I joined last month just won the Novice Quartet competition for the Nor Cal West division of the Far Western District of the Barbershop Harmony Society. Not a bad Saturday.

I wanted to make Mohawk corn soup for New Year's, but I had to do a variation. I don't have access to lyed white corn and I needed to start with a vegetarian base (ham added later). Some of my family in Akwesasne call us the California Cousins, so here is California Cousin's Mohawk Corn Soup.
In 1969, a Mohawk activist from Akwesasne, Richard Oakes, led the occupation of Alcatraz alongside Lanada Means (Shoshone-Bannock). Shé:kon, tourists. It's a beautiful day.
