Starting to get real drought problems. This veg bed is desert dry almost a foot down. It may have to become a winter-only salad bed.
Although the mini-meadow produces butterflies and grasshoppers, the 'lawn' is much more floriferous and, I suspect, slightly more diverse botanically.
One of the Hippeastrums has a fertilizer seed pod. I know it will be years to flower, but never grown one from seed before, so leaving it on to ripen.

If you have solid floors, watch your step. #Humidity is so high that there is heavy condensation on concrete and vinyl surfaces, making them slippery. This is the worst I've ever known.
When I tested this old 'portable'* air conditioner, and it worked, I realised I had partly been hoping it wouldn't, as I now have to attempt to get it up stairs. *Probably too heavy and tall to go on the stairlift.

Had to remonstrate with this young squirrel, who was destroying, and eating, the windowsill. I also explained that older squirrels would disapprove, as they like to sit here in winter, to warm up in the morning sun.
