This still bugs me. 1. Rice is Baines-level maddening. Doesn't measure up. Every time I think of Rice I think of @keithlaw.bsky.social joking (sorta) 'Teh Fear' got him in. (LMAO) 2. Evans has a legit case, but got just half the vote from the Contemporary committee and that was that, apparently.
Been watching and looking at Luke Raley's 2024. We know he struggled vs LHPs, though he didnt get a lot of shots (82 PA), but the numbers suggest he should never be thrown a fastball in or near the zone, LHP or RHP. vs Non-FB: .190 AVG, .267 SLG vs. FB: .306 AVG, .628 SLG (these include vs LHP)
One of my favorite young players in baseball, Detroit Tigers OF Riley Greene, still needs to find better results ve breaking balls, vs both LHP & RHP, needs to mix his 23 and 24 facing lefties (avg+power, not one or the other), and he's a star. He's really close as it is.
