This was the PO parking lot recently. All that space is normally open for customer parking. They have "we're hiring" signs all over the place, so I think they're short staffed right now.
I don't know if this is a good sign or not, but my mail was delivered at 11:38 PM. Good sign -- they're dedicated to get all the mail delivered for that day. Bad sign - they're so understaffed that they have to resort to delivering mail in the middle of the night. #USPS
I've been seeing this cat in my yard for years (photo from ring camera). I've witnessed it catching chipmunks & squirrels, & it probably gets birds too. It looks pretty good size for a stray. Yesterday it was on my front porch & I got a good close up view. It's ear is tipped, so likely feral.
Aww, what a shame! Giant oak trees are the best! Will you be able to get some compensation for the removal? Here's the one that lives across the street from me, taken during peak fall colors.
I spent 3 summers as a teen staying in a rental house across the street from this library. I would walk across the street, go in, get some books, then go to the park across the street and sit and read all afternoon.
Also, as a kid my dad would always buy sparklers. I was afraid of the sparks but they always shoved a lit one into my hand regardless of whether I wanted it or not. My neighbors #fireworks debris always land in my yard, too. One day my neighborhood will catch on fire. Last year:
Overall I spent $455 to have my front and back flower beds weeded and new mulch spread. You only see a small part of the flower beds in the photos. #HiringPeople
I posted in FB "What's happening in ___" group for help with weeding, specifically asking for youth. I got a reply and a 9 year old girl and her dad came to help. The dad did more work than the kid, but they did a great job. I paid them $50 (the beds go all the way across the front of the house).
People come in my kitchen and I sometimes have to explain this. #SaveStargate

I don't know how clear it is (I adjusted the contrast, etc.), but some of the seed heads on this clump of Dallas grass in my lawn are over a meter high. It's been 4 weeks since my yard has been mowed. Tomorrow's the last unrainy day for at least a week. Mower guy better show up!
Oh, Joy. I guess my yard will be ready for bailing when the rain finally stops.
My next door neighbor since 1999 keeps a strip of my yard mowed out of the goodness of his heart. That strip is between my driveway and his house. The property line is about half way down the grass section. #AwesomeNeighbor
There is rain forecast starting tomorrow for at least the next 7-8 days. So the grass will get even longer and the weeds reseed themselves everywhere. The weeds are Dallas grass which is really hard to get rid of. #NeedNewLawnGuy
It's getting there. Just lasagna soup and chili left to make. I hope I have enough pint jars!
Yeah, a week from Tuesday I'm going to drive to my precinct and vote. For just a few people in runoff elections. Everyone should be doing stuff like this, but I bet barely anyone knows that there will be an election on this date. Turnout will likely be very low. #VoteForYourLife

I keep getting political email (and also paper mail) from Florida politicians. Here's my latest reply to one of their messages (I only reply unsubscribe or STOP to Democrat spam but reply like this to republican).
Day 2 of torture. I have 2# of red beans in the slow cooker today. Also, always sort through dried beans before cooking them. Today's batch had a rock and some strange little seed that I definitely do NOT want to crunch into during a meal some day. #SlowCooking
