Made some Greek yogurt meatballs and Swiss chard with lime + cumin for us. Came out pretty good.
I just bought a solid rubber tire for a wheelbarrow because it was giant and orange. Highly recommend this general approach and wish you luck.
Made the chocolate rosemary & hazelnut financiers and the Lao Gan Ma cheese crackers from Helen Goh's "Baking and the Meaning of Life". Great tastes.
Thank you. I've got two dogs hanging out with me during an excellent Thanksgiving celebration. I hope you're having fun at yours!
Today was Chicken Parm day, which I didn't know going in. Alas, I had an order already in for three calabrese style hot soppressata, hard salami, fresh mozzarella, tomato, lettuce, onion, oil and vinegar. Will get the Parm next time.
Today is Diwali, Laxmi Puja, and Kukur Tihar (celebrating our dogs). Yeti and I have already started celebrating and we'll have a family dinner later to be together on this auspicious day.
The pork chop was the best "assemble into lettuce wraps" meal I've ever had. I saw these rabbits on the way out.
If you're in DC, I strongly recommend Moon Rabbit by Kevin Tien. Absolutely fantastic drinks and dinner menu. The staff was bringing the heat all day, some even signed ASL with me, and the atmosphere was perfect.
Each time I go through the DC Metro, I feel like I'm in a Lynchian Dune sorta waiting zone to go zooming off on a sci fi adventure. Always cool, even if getting around is a bit odd.
We went on a bakery trip this morning and got some cheese focaccia, a croque meringue, a blueberry tart, and a plum lemon cake.
Used Parle G biscuits to make the bottom for this Alphonso mango cheesecake. Will report back tomorrow when it's ready.
Taking a few seconds to appreciate the strong women around me and besides me. Happy International Women's Day.
Got these indoor soccer shoes as a follow-up. Tagging @highlightt.bsky.social in also.
I really like the Pilot Precise V5. My handwriting is a bit dense, so a fast drying, neat pen works ideally for me.
Have you seen "The English" on Prime? Some of the most beautiful and brutal Western to ever do it.
Coming home to experience joyous, wiggling, scampering welcoming by Yeti always, always lightens up my day.
Thanks for the prompt, Jim. Felt good to put good into the world. give.translifeline.org/give/461718/...
Had a great birthday. Started off with French toast made by someone special, watched my niece be Extremely Not Sure of the turkeys getting pardoned, and got family and friends time.
