So Opencode just silently dropped their Zero Data Retention info because of the new DeepSeek v4 Flash update I assume? opencode.ai/docs/go/#pri... What a shame, I'd rather use the old one and keep ZDR instead of now basically not being able to trust the providers anymore.
After years of making everyone build their own find-and-replace extension, we have decided that this should perhaps be our problem too. Coming very soon. More small OSS extensions will follow for other things you should never have needed to implement yourself.
Teach your kids about capitalism by making one of them clean the bathroom. Pay them 3$ while you keep 7$. Then reject the other kid a job & access to money and throw them out of the house. Also make sure to tell your other kid that the sibling is lazy & the reason he only makes 3$.

I'm currently test-running Opencode Go (10$ sub) and I'm honestly amazed. It does lack models like OpenAI's or Anthropics but the low-cost models really amazed me for how much they offer you. This is my usage after 2 weeks of heavy usage.
Final post for tonight: The reading view works, read tracking is implemented, and the reading view can even be customized already.
Over on Windows now. Dark Mode is in, native context menus, drag-and-drop in the sidebar works great now.
I think RSS is an underrated technology. Since there seemingly are no really good RSS readers that are cross-platform and not local-first I decided to build one. This is heavily WIP and far from finished. Would anyone be interested in something like that? (Stack: Tauri + local sqlite)
Playing around with Godot a bit - I grew up with 16 bit RPGMaker 2000 games and I miss that style of games a bit. Now I want to try to replicate as many things as possible from those old engines on Godot with more control over code. Lets see how far I get this.
More progress today. Pumped out a few lines of code yesterday and got the feed working now. It's not perfect, the header is to big, the page is not scrolling up, the search is flakey but we're getting there. Going to fix bugs today and then continue onwards to sub-pages & the home feed + feeds.
I'm just using Kitty. Super barebone, no fancy UI around it but super fast & customizable.
Another small sneakpeak into "krauwd". Read-only for now. What it should become: - Opinionated old-school "Facebook/Myspace" style client for Bluesky + other apps - See what people watch, rate, post and listen to on other apps - In the future: customize the design of your own profile to your liking
Dabbling around with ATProto as well now. 🤐🔑 Will show more later - can just say, it's super fun!

Tested my phone a few weeks ago while walking through Berlin at night. First day of heavy snowfall as well. Should do that more often!

Imho their 2016 was peak when it came to usability and simplicity. But then Podcasts and Audiobooks happened.
I also started to dabble into native development with Qt. Holy shit is this good. It took me like 30 minutes to have my own Emoji Picker there with C++ and Qt. And it could even work on other operation systems. Love it.
