"Open Letter in Support of a

General Strike
✊🏽 💰 🌏 🌱
We, the undersigned organizations, represent millions of people across the United States united in the fights for racial justice, economic justice, climate justice, gender justice, and LGBTQ+ liberation. Our memberships span every generation, race, gender, and geography—but one thing is clear: the systems we are fighting are not separate. They are one.

We are living under a corporate oligarchy that has rigged our economy and our democracy to serve the ultra-wealthy, while working people, poor communities, and the planet are pushed toward collapse. From the violent deportations of American immigrants, to the stripping of trans rights, from the climate catastrophe to our constitutional crisis — these are not isolated crises. They are symptoms of a system that puts profit over people, control over freedom, and fascism over democracy.

We believe that the only way to confront this system is together. And the most powerful tool we have is the withdrawal of our labor.

That is why we declare our public support for a General Strike.

We believe it is time for a mass mobilization of working-class people across this country—not only to demand better wages and safer workplaces, but to build a new system rooted in justice, care, and collective power. A general strike is how we say: you cannot run this country without us.

We know that organizing a general strike is not simple. It will require courage, coordination, and strategy. It will require education and risk. But history shows us that no liberation has ever been granted without mass resistance. Now is our time to rise.

We call on labor unions, grassroots movements, student groups, tenant associations, and every person who believes a better world is possible to join us by signing onto this letter.

Let us build together. Let us strike together. Let us rise together for the world we all deserve."

"**Here’s an example of how the finalized demands might look:**
*1. Economic Justice:*
Transition to a universal basic resource economy and establish land and worker owned cooperatives.

*2. Reparations:*
Provide reparations for descendants of slavery and indigenous peoples affected by colonization.

*3. Free Housing:*
Guarantee housing as a human right with immediate action on homelessness.

*4. Climate Action:*
End fossil fuel subsidies and implement a just transition to 100% renewable energy by 2030.

*5. Human Rights:*
Legal protections and equity for marginalized communities LGBTQIA+, women.

*6. Land Back:*
Return stolen lands to indigenous communities and respect their sovereignty.

*7. Technological Justice:*
Establish open source platforms, ethical production of electronics and ethical AI governance.
End exploitative labor practices in the mining and production of technological resources (cobalt and coltan mining in the Congo, used in batteries and electronics).

*8. Healthcare and Education:*
Guarantee free, universal healthcare and education for all.

*9. Divestment:*
Redirect military and police budgets toward social programs and climate
resilience. The U.S. government must immediately cease all military, economic, and political support for Israel's occupation of Palestine and commit to supporting Palestinian self determination, human rights, and compliance with international law."
