Did a little kittening tonight picking up dollar bills and undies. I’m always happy for an excuse to wear a sparkly romper.
This is a chunk of a cannonball from around Owensboro, KY that I personally blew up. (Officially I “rendered it safe”but it was a kaboom.) It’s a keepsake on my shelf now.
It feels very passive aggressive the way my postal worker leaves the mailbox flag after taking my outgoing packages.
It was stupid hot in that theater by the end, but Open Stage was a success! Enjoy my front of the pack sprawl because I never do that. I’m always in the back row because I’m too old to be getting on the floor at the end of the night.
If past Bex was smart, she would have put in some foam rollers a few hours ago so she wouldn’t have to wear heated fucking rollers when it’s 102° out. But only present Bex thought of that idea and here we are, with a roasted head.
I’ve had an idea in my head for 5-6 years and I’m finally putting it on stage this week. It’s dumb! If you want a very fun evening for only $10, you should come out and see it.
Like, this stupid piece of shit person is only going to feel more self righteous and I’m just more angry. (From one of my women veterans groups, this one usually mostly progressive, but there are a few assholes)
This is one of my favorite pictures of my dad. He’s 84 now and like many daughters, I have a vast range of feelings about him. But talking to him on phone this morning, I was like oh I definitely see where I got my need to joke about every goddamn thing from.
In the last several years, I’ve been weirdly trying to find new ways to feel about being a woman veteran. This is kind of part of it.
Aging showgirl problems: you can’t fit your reading glasses over your giant false lashes
Hey Nashville, today is pretty much rained out. Why not come out to Corsair Distillery in Marathon Village and watch a bunch of nerdy burlesque? I’ll be performing something very dumb and fun and probably sexy, but you can decide for yourself.
Okay apparently I need to stop reading news update emails this morning or I’m going to have a blood pressure incident
About 10 years ago on the left, currently on the right with some white strands making themselves known but it’s never been dyed.
My mom embroidered this sometime in the 70s. When I was helping her move last month, she said “oh it’s so old and yellowed now, I don’t think I’ll take it with me.” I grabbed it up so fast. We moved so many times when I was growing up, but this was always on a wall somewhere.
Exactly that. As soon as there's a whiff of any Catholic adjacent event, I'm like that weird kid in Fleabag season 2.
Had a really good day in San Diego with my daughter. Walking at the beach, sea lions, maritime museum, harbor cruise, and a fresh grilled fish on sourdough sandwich for dinner.
Went down to get a Diet Coke from the hotel vending machine and didn’t pay attention to the price, just did the tap to pay and OH MY GOD it’s just a 20 oz Diet Coke!!
I like how Tarte and I look like we are plotting the most sinister of evils and Schatzi is in the middle like get a load of these two, let me be cute.
