a neighbor dug a goldenrod plant out of a big cluster in their yard for me; isn't it lovely? midafternoon/midsummer probably isn't the best time to transplant anything, but I'll water it a bunch and hope it settles in.

ChipDrop - which connects arborists with ppl willing to accept a dump truck full of wood chips - is one of my favorite examples of a site that simply & efficiently bridges a need. It even shows recent 'drops' and the time between request/delivery. getchipdrop.com

oh! and for the past couple months, I've been playing Stardew Valley every Sunday with some younger family members. we've gotten to the point where it's just a given that we'll all be logging on at 2pm. it's my favorite game ever, and so fun to share it with them.

four days before we were set to move into the house we’ve been renovating for 5 months, the first big rain of autumn hit and created a leak through the ceiling. 😬 a plumber and roofer working together ID’d a faulty 100-year-old lead pipe as the culprit. they‘re going in through the closet today.
