I love books, yarn, beasties, movies, and pop culture. Left coast of Canada and so liberal I'm almost a communist, kidding, but definitely a socialist. 🇨🇦🍁🧶🐾
I came across what I think is my first slime mould yesterday in the park. It's so cool! And now I guess I'm now a person who gets excited about things like slime moulds. So that's cool.
I picked up my sweater to knit last night and a wasp had burrowed into it. Fucker bit me so hard. It's this tiny hole but my whole hand just flared up like it's on fire. Evil little sod. But then, the internet served up this, and I've realized, I am wasp too! 😂😂
Spotted a red winged blackbird who has moved into the neighbourhood and immediately took a crap photo of that beauty. Birdwatching is coming along great! 😁
Yep. Partially metric is my jam. Have you seen the flowchart for how Canadians measure things? I would argue it's actually a little more complicated than this, but you get the idea.
Our pupper is Mathilda, Tilly for short. But when we're feeling fancy she is The Duchess Binky von Binklestein. Because, of course.
Something I'm working on fits into #ShowMeYourKnits! Huzzah. A long, extra soft scarf/stole knit double stranded in Ito Sensai marling from mid grey through dark teal to the palest of ice blues. 🧶
Current project: a fuzzy wuzzy triangular shawl/stole in double stranded Ito Sensai. A little drop a strand of a colour, pick up a new strand of colour marled magic in shades of grey and teal. Pale, pale blue will be the next colour added to the mix. 🧶
Scenes from an airport. Leaving Berlin and heading back to Canadaland. Gonna miss you, Berlin. You're amazing.
Berlin also has good puppers waiting for their humans at the grocery store. I think I love it here. @darthbluesky.bsky.social
🤦🏼♀️ This is my friends pup, Paisley. They are coming to visit today. I'm so sorry about your day lost to AI shenanigans. 🫤
Local Canada Geese goslings getting to that awkward teenage phase. So gawky and cute.
They said it couldn't be done, and yet here she is. Tilly the labradoodlehippopotamus.
Yesterday at the park. Sat there for 10 minutes just waiting for some fae creatures to show up it felt so fairy like.
Got a good start on my #lightituPMAL project. Apparently mindless stockinette was exactly what I was looking for. It's Noro Geshi and the www.ravelry.com/patterns/lib... pattern. 🧶
Started another sweater, Mycroft by Isabella Kraemer. Knitting with one strand of lace weight alpaca/silk from Colourmart and one strand of Wool Local by Erika Knight. Very light and smooshy. 🧶
Got a haircut and then visited the bookstore for a little treat. Is this not the best dedication you've ever read?
Ain't no party like a gauge swatch party. Silver lace weight alpaca silk from Colourmart and Wool Local from Erika Knight in the colour Bennett. 4, 4.5, 5mm needle attempts. I think I like the 4.5 fabric best. 🧶
Post the best picture you have ever taken of your pet (if you feel like it). Hugo was so ready for his closeup.
See, I took all these things and made a vat of delicious vegetarian spaghetti sauce.
