I plan sandwich adventures. I bake bread. Then put everything together to create and share recipes, tactics and strategies. Check out my blog and subscribe for free weekly sandwiches in your inbox. Chicago
Is there such a thing as the Upside Down Discover page because my post went there. Haven't seen the term beetroot this many times in 24 hours in my life.
Sometimes you just need to make a regular burger. Not a smash burger, not a super thick burger, just 5 ounces of 80/20, some cheese, lettuce, and pickles. I didn't make this bun either. But it was good.
Got my fifty second straight birthday burger one day late this year. Yes, my mom gave me a burger party when I was one, stop asking questions. This is the classic double from Small Bar in Chicago.
I'm way behind on my snack tastings, but I just bought these and tried them recently. The chips themselves are great. They're light, but still kettle-style and crunchy. BUT the flavors are pretty boring.
The THC seltzers section is just a wild place with brand names made up when the owners of the company were high as hell.
If you've been following me, you know I make most of the sandwiches I eat, but my wife and I were slammed, and we decided to walk over and pick up Jersey Mike's tonight, and the Original Italian still slaps.
The trick here is Argentine red shrimp, which seems like it's readily available. It's more tender than other shrimp varieties, and it has a bit more sweetness, making it similar to lobster meat. BUT it's a lot cheaper than lobster. My grocery had it, but Whole Foods and Trader Joes will have it too.
Here's the video footage I have to back up my claim. Hug your loved ones that like salad.
Breaking: the Empire is worried about salad consumption across the galaxy so they've released a bunch more Imperial Probe Burgers. Be aware. Pass it along.
Here's the little video I whipped up for this blueberry-focused turkey sandwich.
JT's Genuine in Chicago is always the right move. This is the breaded pork tenderloin.
Waited until the hottest part of the day to bake up some medianoche rolls like an idiot. But at least I'm an idiot with some bread.
Tomorrow on the sandwich blog, it's Crab Ass time. Just kidding. We're using all the crab, not just the ass parts.
When Belgium and the US played in the World Cup, this tweet angered some Belgians. I think the likes/retweet counts are wrong in the screenshot because it got shared on French Buzzfeed, and I remember getting lots of angry responses. 😂 www.buzzfeed.com/fr/marietell...
I think I shared this one before, but it always makes me laugh. Clearly, I had overserved myself when I wrote this one.
Sometimes when I open my notes app, I can tell I was drinking beer when I wrote something down.
Using this fried chicken sandwich and beer to fight the heat wave. It's working.
You can see through my beer! This is Raging to Cry from Solemn Oath. A 7 percent West Coast IPA.
Finally, I found a hat that represents me as a thoroughly middle-aged white guy. Also, because I'm squinting, I look tough. You guys simply need to agree with what I said.
The Italiano from Lardon in Chicago. I ordered an Italian Pilsner from Pipeworks called Cold Cuts to pair with it.
You can't eat about 12 sausage, egg, and cheese muffin sandwiches in one day if you don't start in the morning. My sourdough starter helped with these.
Got a chance to try The Bear sandwich from Honey Butter here in Chicago. It's fried chicken strips, pickled prince giardiniera, sweet pepper aioli and chicken jus for dunking. It's their June special and it was pretty good. The jus is a bit unnecessary but I'm not one to pass up a dunk.
Another slight variant of the sandwich I illustrated here. Different background and words.
Here's the illustration I created for this meat centric sandwich. Perfect for all the vegetable haters in your life.
