My spouse & kids are ganging up on me! Wtf? They keep shooting down my ideas w/reason & logic! …Just because I was to swipe one of my Mom’s Texas Longhorn & keep him in our backyard. They’re all “he needs more than 1 acre” & “ he’s a herd animal” & “who’s gunna clean up after him?” 🙄 The longhorn:
I’m squinting pretty hard at some of this, but I did end up getting a different person (now to go look up who this person is to see how I feel about it! …I mostly live under a rock.)
Spouse got home from another Las Vegas work trip & brought me many goodies! I got fancy chocolates, a deck of blackhat “hacker” Pokemon-style cards, & this beauty which I’m very excited to be well enough to build! He got an Iron Man lego set so we can build them together 🥰

After putting it off for ages we just added more shelves & completely reorganized my long covid/ME/cfs night stand/pantry. The jewelry box w/the red bowl on it is used for emergency med & extra wire organization. I use an app to control the lamp so I don’t need to be able to reach it.
He said something very similar recently, you both get serious good spouse points! He’s making dinner & then he’s going to set them up on my PC. I feel very spoiled & since I know you’ll appreciate the nerdiness & understand that I’m too wiped to write alt text, my new toy:
We got a surprise visitor today! She came w/a couple of folk we’d expected to come by & I was rather insistent they extend their quick visit 😁
It’s chilly today so I turned on my electric throw blanket & turned my back for half a second before climbing in bed. I have 1 foot under the blanket, the rest has been adorably coopted by my dog who is pretending to be asleep & is fake snoring.
Well, I mean, you’re not wrong! I was very, very careful & avoided looking at the Visible app until I had been back in bed for a several minutes - when I did, well, damn. The mental health/physical health balance is so, so hard.
Our son just took this is pic of a porcupine in our backyard ❤️ Random fact: We had a dog show up on our ranch who’d tried to eat one of these guys - 2 surgeries, a lotta meds, & months of a special diet later he became the most expensive rescue I know of. He’s asleep next to me 😊 #TexasWildlife

There was one asshole who swerved at our son & hit the (upside down) flag he was holding - “real patriots” run over the flag, I guess??? - which got a ton of other ppl who saw it to honk & shout support for the protesters. Note: other protesters have been cropped out
Awww! I’m so glad you’ve got a companion. There are times I’d be lost without my dog, even living in a house full of people who love me it can be lonely & having my pup helps a lot. Please feel free to share as much about your lil guy as you’re comfortable with! The 1 on right is V, my companion 😊
They do! They’re some of my favorite flowers, they seem so delicate against the strong cactus. The flowers turn into prickly pears, which are okay to eat but I much prefer the leaves to the fruit, personally. Normally, they’re covered in spines, but they burn them off. A pic from our ranch:
